SKATE CARE SERVICES
SKATE SHARPENING - $15.00
The rule of thumb is to sharpen ice skates after every 15 - 20 hours of use. This is typical for those who play hockey or figure skate multiple times on a weekly basis. Skate sharpening is not always available to be done on the spot, so we recommend dropping of your skates at the front office for sharpening and picking them up at a later date.
HEAT MOLDING - $30.00
Are your new skates hurting your feet? Heat molding may help speed up the breaking in process. Skates are "baked" in a skate oven to warm up the boot lining, then placed on the wearers feet, tied up and left on for 15 minutes. The heated skate will then mold itself to the skaters foot and provide a more comfortable fit. Once heat molded, skates must not be used for the next 24 hours. Heat molding is done by appointment only, so please book in with staff at the front office or by email at email@example.com.
Please also note that not all models of skates have the technology to be heat molded.
SKATE PUNCHING - $10.00 PER SKATE
Another way to help fix painful skates, skate punching uses a ball and cup clamp to push out a small, localised problem area. The inside of the boot is marked where to trouble area is and then placed on the clamp for a minimum of 8 hours to "punch" the spot out. Depending on how much the skates need altering, the boot may need to be left overnight. Skate punching is done by appointment only, so please book in with staff at the front office or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
