Ice Point international Pty. Ltd. is and international company which owns and operates its own ice rink, the Penrith Ice Palace situated in the western suburbs of Sydney, Australia. The company is also in its final planning stage for a second ice rink to be set up and operated by Ice Point International in Taipei, Taiwan. This rink is expected to open in the second half of 2003. Ice Point International has been set up with a view to servicing and supplying the ice skating industry through out the South East Asia region as well as the rest of the world. Our long term goal is to establish a supply and information base to the industry which includes planning for an ice rink, financial considerations, management options, rink designs, supply of ice plant, ice floor, and heat mat, barriers, and dehumidification as well as supply of any or all specialty equipment required for an ice rink operation.
The principals of Ice Point International are the President, Mr. Richard Liu and the Managing Director, Mr. Jonathan Yang. Jonathan Yang has been around ice rinks since the age of thirteen.  He has won the Taiwan senior men national figure skating championships three times and in 1989 won the I.S.I.A. world figure skating championship. He also won the the Skate Australia championships in 1990. Jonathan turned professional after this and has taught figure skating throughout Asia and Australia. He also has a keen interest in the building and running of ice rinks which led to the construction of Penrith Ice Palace, which opened in 2000.
Along with Jonathan, Ice Point International used Mr. Geoffrey T. Fawke as one of its consultants and also as its project manager for the construction of the Penrith Ice Palace. Geoffrey, a builder by trade and self taught in refrigeration has been in the ice skating industry for more than 36 years and has been responsible for the building of four permanent ice rinks, three of which he helped design and was also the project manager during their construction. Two of these rinks are Olympic size being 60 x 30 meters. He has owned and operated his own portable ice tanks and has toured ice shows through out Australia, Malaysia and China. In 1988 and 1996 he installed portable Olympic sized rink and barriers into Boondall Entertainment Centre in Brisbane for the Junior World Figure Skating Championships and in 2001 he again installed a portable Olympic sized ice rink and barriers for the Goodwill Games. This was a major challenge, because only five days were allowed to install and make ice along with installing the portable barriers and paint the ice and logo in. He completed this task with time to spare.

The Ice Skating Association of Queensland which owns and operates three ice rinks in Brisbane always uses Geoffrey as its project manager when available. Geoffrey is now part of our team and acts as a consultant and project manager for all of our work.

Another consultant and ice technician in our team is Mr. Geoffrey Boyle. He designs and installs most of the ice plants we use. A refrigeration technician by trade like his father before him he has built and installed all of the ice plants in all of the ice rinks in Brisbane,  Australia since 1972. He also built and installed our Penrith Ice Palace ice plant as well as designing portable ice plants, which are in use throughout Australia.

Ice Point International uses modern technology and now with associate companies we can provide complete design as well as installing ice rink packages. Tomorrows successful ice arenas will be much better prepared because of the modern technology advantages by Ice Point International in all of its designs, supply and installation work.
